● Release of ICC Principles of Sustainable Trade at COP28. These principles fill a crucial industry gap, offering standardisation for sustainable trade. With our work, we leverage ongoing efforts to encourage production of sustainable goods through increased access to financing and to enable greater investor access to sustainable trade.
Towards a Sustainable Trade Worldwide: Discussions among the Americas and Europe at COP28. The ICC Agri-Food Hub coordinated this session, which aimed to discuss opportunities and challenges facing the agricultural and livestock sector, particularly in three key areas: new international standards and regulations for accessing global markets; systems reconversion; and financing sources
Webinar: “Arbitration & DRS in Agri-business: Challenges and Opportunities”. This session, co-organized in collaboration with the Arbitration Commission of ICC Argentina, addressed the opportunities and challenges for arbitration in the agribusiness sector. The discussion acknowledged that arbitration in this sector is a relatively unexplored niche with significant potential, particularly in Latin America.
Webinar: “Agricultural Insurance: Challenges, Opportunities, and Success Cases”. During this webinar, part of the webinar series on drought developed this year, we addressed the importance of having an agricultural insurance system tailored to the sector's needs.
NCs & Chambers Engagement
● ICC Agri-Food Hub Quarterly Meeting. On December 7th, the first quarterly meeting of the global project took place. During the meeting, discussions centred on the opportunities the project will present in the upcoming year 2024. Additionally, we made available a Quick Guide for NCs Engagement for hub members
ICC Morocco joined the ICC Agri-Food Hub. A country with a vibrant agribusiness market, which contributes almost 13% to country’s GDP. Combined with the fishing and forestry sectors, it employs about 31% of Morocco's workforce and produces significant quantities of wheat, sugar beets, barley, potatoes, olives, and citrus fruits.
● FAO Meeting / Hand-In-Hand Initiative.
● Scholarship. In collaboration with ICC Italy and Luiss Guido Carli University we are offering a unique opportunity: Full Scholarship, covering €9,500 for the VIII Edition of the LL.M. in Food Law and 10% discount on the normal tuition fees for ICC experts interested in attending the course, regardless of the selection result.
