ICC Arbitration and Iran

The ICC International Court of Arbitration and ICC Iran are hosting an event, entitled "ICC Arbitration and Iran," to be held in Tehran on 23 May.

Iran has a long standing tradition with arbitration practice, in general and in particular with ICC Arbitration. International arbitration in Iran is governed by the 1997 Law of Iranian International and Commercial Arbitration (LICA) which is influenced by the UNCITRAL Model Law of 1985. Iran has also been a member of the New York convention on enforcement of international arbitration since 2001. Therefore, and with the new challenges Iran is witnessing, this conference represents a great opportunity to debate with Iranian practitioners, arbitration users and the ICC representatives the Iranian arbitration legal framework in order to further enhance the interaction with ICC arbitration. It is also an opportunity to discuss institutional, commercial and investment arbitration in Iran in light of the new developments.
