On 10 June 2014, "Foreign Exchange Market Seminar” hosted by ICC Iran Banking Commission was held from 8.30 A.M to 12.30 P.M, at Iran Chamber of Commerce.
Ms. Farideh Tazhibi, Secretary of ICC Iran Banking Commission and Mr. Mehdi Rashidi, Chief Representative of Future Bank Bahrain, professionally discussed the related issues.
The purpose of holding the seminar was to orient participants with Foreign Exchange Market currency exchange rate risk. First, Ms. Tazhibi explained the main activities of the ICC Banking Commission and, presented an outline about the foreign exchange market. She also said Forex is the largest and the most risky market in the world.
“According to Bank for International Settlements, BIS, Forex daily turnover was about 5.3 trillion dollars in April 2013” said Mr. Rashidi. He also emphasized that Forex is mainly Inter Bank Market operations that about 95% of the daily transactions is speculation and only 5% of the remaining transaction is hedging operations.Spot Transactions in details and some Derivative Operations such as Forward Transactions were discussed in this seminar as well.
In addition Q & A session was held and the speaker answered participant’s questions at the end of the session.
