ICC YAF: Trends in arbitration rule-making

Within the last two years, many arbitral institutions have reformed their arbitration rules. Alongside the ICC with its new Rules of Arbitration, which entered into force on 1 January 2021, other arbitral institutions such as the ones in Denmark, Finland, Italy, UK, Switzerland, or the IBA have also issued new rules. This YAF event will provide an overview of the different reform projects and will identify the most important trends in recent arbitration rule-making.

A distinguished and international panel of arbitration practitioners, bringing together the expertise from many different European countries, will offer a concise update on the novelties and innovations contained in the new arbitration rules of the ICC, IBA, Swiss Arbitration Centre, LCIA, CAM, DIA, and FIA. Based on these snapshots, the panellists will define the overarching trends in recent arbitration rule-making in Europe, explore the underlying reasons for the reforms, and discuss the wider implications for users and practitioners.
